Reading Series

Public readings are an important part of our developmental process, as we seek audience feedback and give the writer an opportunity to evaluate the play outside of a lab setting in preparation for production.

In the second play, two Athenian comedians have scored a huge success satirizing the Roman general, Mark Antony. The next day, however, Antony occupies Athens and sends word he would like to see them . . . .

The cast includes Bruce Barton*, Francis Callahan*, Ellie Foumbi, Cynthia Granville*, Andrew Hurley, Eric Johnston, Tim Kelly, Ric Siler, Anthony Valbiro*

After the play:

It's your turn! The audience will have the opportunity to give feedback to the playwright, director and actors and ask questions. Playwrights use this process to revise their play and complete a script so that it is ready for production.

About the playwright and musician:

Robert Gulack is a Yale Drama and Yale Law School alumnus whose work has been seen at the Source Theatre in Washington, DC and the Algonquin in NYC, and in readings at the Abingdon in NYC and 12 Miles West in NJ. The Supporting Characters produced his SIX HUSBANDS OF ELIZABETH THE QUEEN in summer 2008 in NYC.

The plays feature music by Laurie Hochman, whose music has been performed by the Boston Pops, and two-time Emmy-award-winning composer Larry Hochman, who is fresh from arranging a concert performance by Sir Paul McCartney.
